SANIC

How to clean your mattress

Ready to spring clean but don’t know how to clean your mattress? All good. Here’s a quick how-to. This process combats FUNGUS, BACTERIA, ODOURS, DUST, DUST MITES, AND BED BUG PREVENTION (all addressed in the WHY you should clean your mattress blog)

…IT’S A SIMPLE 5-STEP JOB…

ONE

REMOVE YOUR LINEN AND MATTRESS PROTECTOR

Cleaning your linen one a week gets rid of some germs, but not all.

TWO

SPRINKLE THE SANIC POWDER OVER YOUR WHOLE MATTRESS

SANIC gets rid of fungus, bacteria, dust, dust mites and protects against bed bugs.

THREE

LEAVE SANIC ON YOUR MATTRESS FOR 20 MINUTES

…or, a few hours depending on how deep you’d like to clean your mattress. The longer the better.

FOUR

VACUUM UP THE SANIC POWDER ON YOUR BED.

The powder has trapped dead skin, dust, moisture, fungi, bacteria, so when you vacuum up the powder the unwanted matter is removed with it.

FIVE

REMAKE YOUR BED WITH A CLEAN MATTRESS PROTECTOR AND FRESH LINEN!

Make sure that they are completely dry before placing them back on your bed. You don’t want any dampness in your mattress. Mattress protectors can be tricky to clean regularly see link at the bottom for how to deal with mattress protectors.

Now, enjoy… Bonus your mattress will smell SANIC fresh after doing this.

…SOME TOP TIPS…

  • Change your linen once a week.
  • Use can SANIC on your mattress protector on those days that you’d rather skip a wash
  • While you are waiting for SANIC to work give your mattress extra ventilation by opening curtains and windows to let in air and/or sunshine. Let it breathe.
  • Avoid steam cleaning your mattress as moisture from the steam is easily trapped in the mattress and can easily damage any and all expensive fabrics, foam layers and springs;
  • Prevention is better than cure when it comes to mould and fungi as they are virtually impossible to remove. SANIC is the perfect prevention product;
  • DO NOT put your mattress on the floor and call it a futon. Mattresses have bases for a reason, they allow for adequate ventilation (say it with us: ‘Let it breathe!’)
  • We recommend using SANIC every time you change your linen
  • Mattress protectors… sigh
